Caring For A Corset
To insure that your corset will last for many years, you can practice several techniques that will keep it in top condition.

Fabric Corsets
Dry cleaning is recommended. Do not wash your corset. Remember, your corset is made with steel boning and water will cause it to rust. If it needs cleaning, take it to a trusted dry cleaner, and if possible, have it dry cleaned by hand.

In most cases, letting your corset air out will do. Simply drape your corset over a hanger or over the back of a chair to air. With careful wear, you probably will not need to clean your corset often. You may find that lightly brushing a stained area will remove dried food or other build-up.

Leather Corsets
Occasionally treat your leather corset with a leather conditioner to keep it supple.

All Corsets
After wearing, air out your corset occasionally and use a damp cloth to clean the lining. This will keep it smelling fresh and reduce the need for dry cleaning. Wearing something thin underneath the corset (camisole, tank top, etc.) will keep the perspiration away from the corset.

Roll the corset for storage. You may want to hang the corset to air, but traditionally a corset has been rolled for storage. Starting with the "eye" side, roll the corset to the center back. Pull the center loop until both sides of the corset meet at the center back. Continue rolling the corset, then wrap the center loops around the corset to hold it in place.
